Mental Performance Coaching

Your fitness is there.
Let's train what's between your ears.

Mental performance coaching for athletes who want to compete at their edge โ€” with clarity, composure, and the psychological tools to stay there.

You're fit enough.
So why does your mind bail first?

You've done the training. You know what your body is capable of. But something happens between the start line and the moment it gets hard โ€” the mental game breaks down. The doubt moves in. The panic at mile 70. The spiral when the plan falls apart. The inability to find flow when it matters most.

Fitness gets you to the wall. Mental performance is what gets you through it.

  • You perform better in training than in races โ€” and you don't know why

  • High-stakes moments bring anxiety, not focus

  • When things go wrong mid-race, you spiral instead of adapt

  • You can't find flow โ€” you're grinding where you want to be gliding

  • Confidence feels fragile, one bad workout away from collapse

  • You've hit your physical ceiling โ€” the next gains are mental

The pain cave has a mental lock. Mental performance training is the key."

Mental performance isn't positive thinking. It's psychological training โ€” specific, practiced, and built for the moments that count.

DEVELOP COMPOSURE UNDER PRESSURE

We'll train the ability to stay grounded when the race is blowing up โ€” using ACT-based defusion, mindfulness, and attention-control skills that work in the real conditions of competition.

1

BUILD GENUINE DURABLE CONFIDENCE

Not the kind that depends on perfect conditions or recent results. We'll build confidence from values and commitment โ€” the kind that shows up even on the days when your legs don't.

2

APPROACH THE PAIN CAVE DIFFERENTLY

ACT teaches you to approach discomfort with curiosity instead of resistance. Suffering in an ultra or at altitude is inevitable โ€” your relationship with it doesn't have to be a fight.

3

CREATE YOUR PRE-COMPETITION MENTAL PROCESS

We'll build a personalized mental performance routine โ€” race-day prep, focus cues, mid-race reset strategies โ€” so you arrive at the start line ready, not hoping.

ABOUT THE APPROACH

๐Ÿงญ Unlike traditional sport psychology that focuses on eliminating doubt or anxiety, ACT teaches you to compete with them โ€” moving toward your goals even when the mental weather is bad. This is psychological flexibility in action, and it's what separates athletes who perform in the hard moments from those who don't.

Most therapists who work with athletes come from clinical practice and add sport on the side. This practice was built the other way around.

DUAL DEGREES

Social Work & Applied Sport Psychology

Two disciplines that most practitioners choose between. The clinical depth of social work combined with the performance science of applied sport psychology โ€” both fully trained, both fully present in this work.

CERTIFIED

Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC)

The CMPC is the field's gold standard certification โ€” earned through advanced coursework, mentored hours, and rigorous examination. It means this isn't supplemental. Mental performance is the specialization.

THE DIFFERENCE

A specialist, not a generalist who dabbles

Anyone can say they work with athletes. Very few have the training to hold both the clinical and the performance sides at once โ€” and to know which one is needed in the room.
